The Swedish company Einride reported that its self-designed truck vans developed by its engineers will go on sale this fall. Self-propelled vehicles will use an autopilot platform built using NVIDIA technologies, which will allow the truck electric car to mix itself on public roads without driver intervention.
On one charge T-pod from Einride can drive up to 160 kilometers, and the platform for autonomous driving from NVIDIA will make it as safe as possible - the creators of cargo T-pod note that the technologies of independent positioning on the ground and the advanced development of autopilot creators will allow to create routes and quickly deliver goods through urban and suburban destinations.
In addition to the unmanned version, the truck also provides a method for remote control of the operator, therefore, on dangerous sections of roads and in a number of individual cases provided for by local legislation, the cars will be manned.

The company has already developed a route between the cities of Gothenburg and Helsingborg, according to which two hundred unmanned trucks will be plying already in the autumn. In the video above, the developers demonstrate how the truck is moving on autopilot.
T-pod is capable of delivering up to 15 standard pallets, but the developers do not yet disclose the exact carrying capacity. Most likely, it will be small, because the batteries of the truck also can not boast of a large volume, so the Ti-pods are unlikely to replace heavy vehicles, but on easy routes can clearly be a good solution. The main thing is to ensure the safety of traffic on autopilot, because without it there can not be a talk about the scale application of such trucks.
