In Israel, created protection from the system of recognition of persons

The D-ID start-up from Tel Aviv has created an algorithm capable of protecting from the face recognition system. Israeli development is able in this way to change some facial features in the photograph, that it is impossible to correlate the processed photo with other images and the real person that is depicted on them.

Modern face recognition algorithms from Google, Baidu, Facebook and other high-tech companies are able to independently search for images of an individual, sort them and find a specific person on the photo. The Israeli startup has created an algorithm capable of successfully countering this. According to the developers, the system works with efficiency, which reaches 90 percent.

The founders of the company decided to develop such an application about ten years ago. Then they two got vacation in the army and went to South America. After the trip, military authorities forbade tourists to publish photos, referring to modern technologies for recognizing faces and spies. Then the friends decided to create protection against this, and a year ago they created a company that started developing.

"More and more organizations use identification systems, so keeping privacy becomes more difficult. That's why we created our system, because the appearance of a person is not a password that can be changed quickly, "explains D-ID CEO Gil Perry.

The photos, modified by the D-ID algorithm, are practically indistinguishable from the original, but if you compare them with the originals without processing, you can see the difference.
