In general, all streaming audio services can be divided into two types: those behind which are large companies (Apple, Google, Yandex), and independent. It is the latter that has to develop with all its might, offering as much as possible to its users. Not surprisingly, these services are the "locomotives of progress" in providing users with music in high quality (one of the main criteria for me).
It was such an event that made me look closely at Deezer, this French company, which has existed since 2007, at the end of last autumn launched streaming in FLAC (in addition to the existing two options for broadcasting to MP3). The fact that Deezer is actively working with the Russian market, offering prices, is much less than the world market, for example, the price of a regular subscription is only 169 rubles, the family subscription (up to 6 profiles) - 269 rubles, and for HiFi you have to give 339 rubles per month. Needless to say that this is a great price even for fans of unlicensed content (getting rid of the need to download torrents, convert them, and so on).
Of course, Deezer has a complete "gentlemanly set" of streaming service: clients for mobile platforms (including even Windows Mobile, or whatever it is), the ability to listen in the browser and the client for desktops (traditionally written with Electron). Mobile clients have offline support, you can mark an album or playlist available offline, and the application will save them in the device's memory (it will be compressed into an MP3 file). HiFi-subscription with streaming in FLAC is available only for desktop customers, but in the future support is promised to expand for mobile.
I think the application interface does not make much sense, it is obvious and very quickly mastered, there are also selections from the curators, and a convenient search, and various charts. Speaking subjectively, Deezer likes me for several reasons. Firstly, it's the speed of finding the right music, I just think that I would like to listen, and in a few seconds I realize this desire. It also helps to select tracks for my reviews, allowing you to instantly find what you want.
Secondly, we can not ignore the economic component, I do not use unlicensed music, so buying what I want to listen to often pours out "a pretty penny," and here - for a very small and fixed price, access to a huge (according to the developers, 43 million songs) to the library.
Well, thirdly, it's Flow. Behind this name lies the traditional for these services feature of the selection of tracks, taking into account your interests, and geolocation, and listening to music. Initially, Flow was dominated by geolocation, and I was showered with various stars of the Balkan turbofolk (that still tin) in all variations. Fortunately, literally with a dozen clicks on the button "no longer offer" allowed Deezer to take into account my tastes, and from the Balkan I had only representatives of rock, jazz and classical music. After about three days of "learning", I managed to train Flow on my preferences, and it's worth noting that this function offers an excellent balance between "good old" and "something new" in my library.
Of the minuses Deezer I note that I came across several songs in some very low quality, but this is literally a couple of cases out of a thousand, and they were not the most famous performers, I suspect that their music was simply not available in lossless.
Perhaps, without exaggeration, we can say that at the moment, Deezer is the main streaming service for the suffering audiophile. If you reject services that do not offer lossless, there remain two applicants, but Tidal is available in literally in a dozen other countries around the world (while Deezer is also inaccessible in about ten countries), and bothering with a VPN to overpay Tidal makes little sense. Of course, on the side of Tidal there are Tidal Masters in MQA format, but these releases are only a few hundred, so I can not say that the sheep is worth the candle. Plus, Tidal has a significantly worse recommendation service, it is palpably inferior to Flow.
In general, if you have not tried streaming in high quality - Deezer offers you this chance, and then you can decide for yourself how much you need it. Personally, I'm for switching to the licensing side.
