Very soon, in 2018, the Canadian start-up SecureKey is going to launch a block-based platform, through which the country's residents will be able to be identified in government services, on websites of banks, mobile operators and many others, using their own smartphone.
The identification service was developed by SecureKey specialists on the basis of IBM blocking technology and was created to help people verify their identity where necessary with a smartphone or a Windows device. This can help speed up many processes, saving the institution's employees and their clients from unnecessary fuss.
For example, a person decided to apply for a loan on the site and left his mobile in the form of feedback. In response, the bank receives a request for access to personal data. The client confirms it, and the bank instantly receives the information necessary to it, bypassing long lines, checks and delays.
According to the representative of SecureKey, the distributed registry does not conduct data through any central platform, which will protect it from hackers.
"Thanks to this system, it is easier for a client to prove that he is just him, that's why the chances of intruders to pretend to be somebody else are getting smaller," Greg Vulfond, the head of SecureKey, explained.
The project has already been supported by some major banks and mobile operators. In addition, SecureKey managed to find several large investors who agreed to jointly invest $ 24 million in development.
