JD.com will launch its network of robotic stores

Chinese online retailer JD.com reported that it is soon going to open a chain of stores in which there will be no sellers and queues at the ticket offices - the latest developments of the company will serve the customers themselves.

According to the management of JD.com, customer service systems have already been tested on the company's employees and are ready for a massive launch of the project. Technologies of robotic shopping, noted in the company, are the most advanced. At the moment, the operation of face recognition systems has been tested, which will replace the sellers in future stores of the company. Tracking of the goods will be carried out on RFID tags, and the sale will be carried out automatically. In addition, now for JD stores special thermal chambers are created, which track the flows of customers and their position relative to shelves with goods - they will help to study the demand for certain things.

The developers of the "smart store" JD said that if they want, their technology will be able to buy and adapt to their needs, everyone.

At the beginning of the year, Amazon tried to open a fully automated store, but immediately faced some difficulties. Her face recognition system worked incorrectly, starting to get lost, seeing a group of buyers from several people, and if there were more than twenty visitors in the room, the store simply refused to serve visitors.
