Specialists of DeepMind have created a new artificial intelligence capable of using their imagination to plan further actions. The developers report that the AI programs "imagined" about their future actions and better anticipate what their actions will later turn out to be the most correct.
About the "New Approach to Imagination Planning", the creators of AI programs, called I2As (Imagination-Augmented Agents), were told in an article published on the DeepMind website. According to them, the development of artificial intelligence can get a new turn if the programs learn to use imagination, memory and begin to show curiosity.
The AI's imagination was tested using the Sokoban game, in which the player must place the boxes in the right places. You can not rearrange the box that is not there, which means that one wrong attempt leads to a loss. Therefore, the new AI first carefully studied the playing field, thinking out possible scenarios for the development of events, and only then, when all options were considered, he made a move.
