Facebook bought a startup that created the technology of adding and removing images to video

Facebook continues to develop its social network, adding its functionality to new "chips". So, the other day it was announced that the largest social network acquired a German startup Fayteq, developing plug-ins to work with video. Previously, Fayteq created add-ons for various video editors, among which was, for example, Adobe After Effects.

Facebook is interested in the development of the Germans, which allows you to delete certain objects from the video, or, on the contrary, directly "on the fly" to add new ones. Recently, the social network has launched augmented reality platform, allowing to interact with the Facebook application and gadget cameras. Apparently, buying a startup Fayteq can give work in the AR direction a new push.

The principle of the application developed by Fayteq is quite simple: the algorithm recognizes real objects captured by the lens, and then applies certain digital effects to the video, which are typical for the already existing video.

This technology can be useful for Facebook broadcasts or stories in Instagram. In addition to the computer vision technology described above, the startup has other developments that may also interest new owners and come in handy in the future.
