Once we dreamed about the future, where our wrist will show off a brand new watch, inside of which a full-fledged computer will fit. Well, this time has come, but only those dreams were far from the harsh reality. After the announcement by large players of the market of several models of smart-watches, people very quickly became disappointed in them. The reason for this was the limited functions of such gadgets, as well as the small capacity of the built-in batteries. But some companies are not going to give up. For example, the famous Swiss watchmaker Swatch is working on a new operating system for smart watches.
After WatchOS and Android Wear, the operating system of Swatch should appear, which has no official name yet. Swiss watch maker with more than thirty years of history does not want to produce smart watches based on existing software solutions. President of the company Nick Hayek told reporters from Bloomberg that the Swatch management decided to create their own platform with the support of the best specialists from the Swiss Center for Electronics Development.

The advantages of its own operating system are its greater reliability, as well as better optimization, which will have a positive effect on battery life. The first smart clock based on the Swatch operating system will have to go on sale near the end of 2018, and they will be a new model of the Tissot line. Previously, this watch was planned to be released on the basis of Android Wear, but the company's management seriously worried about the unreliability of the Google platform. Therefore, they decided to postpone the release until better times.
It is worth noting that President Swatch has repeatedly made statements that he is categorically not satisfied with the small capacity of the batteries of smart watches existing on the market. He admitted that he wants to create a watch that can work for at least six months on a single charge. A little later the company shared with the press information that its engineers were able to create the world's tiniest Bluetooth chip, which practically does not consume energy. Well, let's see if Swatch will be able to turn our view of the smart clock in the future.
