Most of us probably know how to act in this or that emergency. Many even passed special exercises that imitate dangerous phenomena. But in all this there is one nuisance: we know about all actions only in theory. Of course, no one would voluntarily benefit from, say, a burning house just to "gain experience" of survival under these conditions. But with the arrival of new technologies and the spread of virtual reality, one does not need to risk life. It's enough just to put on a VR helmet.
As you probably already guessed, we are talking about a virtual reality training system that will show what to do in case of fire. The system itself is called VR Fire Extinguishing Experience Simulator, and NEC and MX Mobiling Co Ltd. are responsible for the development. VR Fire Extinguishing Experience Simulator runs on the Galaxy Gear VR device, where Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8 + smartphones can act as a display, and a special controller in the form of a fire extinguisher is used for control.

"Simulator of fire extinguishing" can simulate a fire both in the closed premises, and in the open air. "Manages" the fire computer with specialized software that creates a realistic behavior of the flames burning the environment, controls the flow of wind and clouds of smoke. Now the system is able to simulate the situation of fire in the office space, and in the future developers are planning to add a kitchen, apartment and some production facilities.
The total cost of the complete set (including the phone) will be equal to 9 thousand US dollars. In the first 3 years after the release, developers plan to sell to customers at least 3,000 sets. The customers will be educational institutions, large corporations and emergency services.
