All operating systems developed by Google, combine one thing: they are all built on the Linux kernel. But as the portal Android Police, Google is currently developing a new operating system Fuchsia, the code snippets which were found on the site GitHub. According to the source, the new OS is built on the core of Magenta, which, in turn, is built on the basis of the LittleKernel kernel. LittleKernel, in turn, is designed to work on devices with severely limited resources. Founded on its base Magenta was originally developed for modern phones and computers.
Android Police notes that it is also planned to use Fuchsia on computers and phones. One of the developers of the new OS Travis Geiselbrecht shared information that the version for microcomputers Raspberry Pi 3 should appear soon.
All that is known about the new OS at the moment is that it has support for 32-bit and 64-bit ARM processors, as well as 64-bit processors for desktop PCs. It is not yet known whether Google itself will use Fuchsia in its products.
According to Android Police, there are two options for development: either the company is going to replace the new system with its new Android and Chrome OS in the future, or plans to use Fuchsia in peripheral devices like its OnHub router or Google Home column.
In addition, the portal does not deny the possibility that this is just another experiment of Google, which never will reach commercial products.
