Microsoft is going to allow the manufacturers of refrigerators, toasters, thermostats and other modern electronic devices with Internet access to integrate the electronic assistant "Cortana" into their products.
Access to the use of the electronic assistant Microsoft plans to open with the release of the update Windows 10 Creators Update, which will appear in March next year. In the hands of journalists of the ZDNet news agency, several brochures of the upcoming WinHEC (Windows Hardware Engineering Community) conference, which will be held in China, have been downloaded. They talk about Microsoft's plans and software requirements for hardware manufacturers who want to equip their products with an electronic assistant.
"This allows you to create devices with displays that have unique functions of the assistant" Kortana ". Any kind of clever devices with a screen can now take advantage of the "Cortana", - says Microsoft program manager Carla Forester.

Microsoft wants manufacturers to equip their devices with a screen in order to be able to access the full set of functions of the user interface "Cortana". As an example of such devices, which, most likely, we will see in the future, Microsoft leads refrigerators, thermostats and toasters.
In addition, it is indicated that with the release of Creators Update for Windows 10, the efficiency and communication functions of the electronic assistant will increase, and the functions of "voice awakening" will appear. In both cases, this will allow equipment manufacturers to create devices that can be output from sleep mode by voice and that can be heard by a user who is not only in close proximity to the device, but generally in the entire room where this device is located.
It should also be noted that at the moment Microsoft is testing new features of the user interface "Cortans", which will expand its capabilities: enable it to turn on / off the computer, control volume, enter / exit from sleep mode and so on.
Unfortunately, Microsoft does not specify more detailed specifications in the brochures, but it is obvious that the company lays the groundwork for third parties who can create devices with screens as access points "Kortans" to cloud servers.
