The corporation is not interested in the production of self-propelled vehicles and is not going to follow in the footsteps of Google, Tesla and other car manufacturers, but will gladly work on the operating system under which such cars can operate. About this at the Converge conference in Hong Kong told a staff member of Microsoft Peggy Johnson.

Last month, Fiat Chrysler and Google announced a partnership that would bring the Chrysler Pacifica minivans, managed programmatically, to the market. It seems that Microsoft also wants to participate in the development of software for such cars.

Johnson explained that Microsoft continues to search for partners and works in this area. The results of the cooperation, she said, can be seen very soon, because the corporation is open to producers interested in their operating system. Peggy Johnson cited the American firm Harman as an example, which already uses Microsoft products in its infotainment systems, offering users a full-fledged Microsoft Office 365. How often car owners make presentations and work in a car with an office package of MS Office, she did not specify. The main thing is that the start has already been made.

Microsoft Corporation has been doing software for quite some time already, used in on-board computers of different manufacturers. Previously cars Ford, Kia, BMW, Nissan, Fiat and even "Lada" were equipped with equipment with a mobile version of Windows on board. A few years ago, Microsoft announced the development of a project in Windows in the Car, but until now, a partner with which to implement this idea, was never found.
