The software update, which is intended to put an end to the driver's anxiety regarding driving distance, will soon be sent via Tesla electric cars via the Internet. The other day, Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced on his Twitter page the upcoming press conference, where a wireless update for Tesla Model S liftback will be presented.
It is reported that the update will affect all produced copies of the Model S. As a rule, the software update for Tesla cars is distributed over the air through the built-in 3G module. The recent update has reduced the time to break up the model, and the impending, as some media jokes, will turn the Model S into a James Bond submarine's Lotus Esprit from the billionaire collection.

But seriously, Musk did not provide any additional data on the upcoming update. To date, it is only known that the “updated” owners will finally stop worrying about the power reserve of their cars. Apparently, this will be associated with increased efficiency of the engine. The IBTimes resource believes that this can also be achieved through the use of regenerative braking.
Offering a long enough run between charges (twice as much as most electric vehicles), the Model S is still inferior to conventional gasoline and diesel cars of the same size. Power reserve is a particularly pressing issue for “electric motorists”, given the poorly developed infrastructure of electric filling stations.
Tesla press conference will be held on Thursday, March 19. Location of the event is still unknown.
Since the start of deliveries of Model S in June 2012, Tesla has sold more than 50,000 copies of this model.
