Google has shared information that the new version of its Android operating system will be called Marshmallow. The first details about Android M (the letter behind which the official name of the new OS was hidden), or Android 6.0 (exactly this version will be updated), were first announced at the end of May at the Google I / O conference. After the announcement of Android M, many fans of Google’s mobile operating system began to wonder what could be meant by it. Unfortunately, for M & M fans, hopes were not met.
In addition to announcing the official name of the new OS, Google released a ready-made version of the Android 6.0 SDK and the third (and last) preview version of Marshmallow OS, which can be downloaded to Nexus devices.
"The preview images of the OS are close to the final ones, but they are not intended for the end user," says the official Google blog.
"Remember, when the official release of Android 6.0 Marshmallow takes place this fall, you will need to manually reset all your device settings to factory settings in order to be able to receive OTA updates for your Nexus device in the future."
As part of the update itself, Android Marshmallow will offer a more competent approach to distributing permissions when installing new applications, support for the new Android Pay mobile wallet, support for USB Type-C, as well as many improvements and changes. The new OS will be nicer than Android 5.0 Lollipop, which, we recall, last year made significant changes in the appearance of the user interface.

The latest news (though at the level of rumors) suggests that Google is working on two new Nexus smartphones that will be used to demonstrate the capabilities of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. One of the devices involved in the company is Huawei, the second device will be the sequel to the LG Nexus 5. Both new products are likely to receive built-in fingerprint scanners.
