The era when we edited documents and tables in offline applications is gradually coming to an end. Most users have long migrated to the “cloud” and keep all their files there for several reasons at once: it’s safer, you can access the “cloud” from almost any computer (it’s enough to carry flash drives with you), all changes to documents are saved in real of time. Most of these services are foreign, and many of you know about them. Most likely, with the increasing use of mobile devices, editing different types of documents will spill over them - but so far even in the global market there are no solutions that fully comply with the principle of mobile-first.
But the situation can change . About themselves, they said for collaboration with office documents. According to the company, the development of the platform from the very beginning is conducted with an emphasis on mobile devices. We were interested to look at the Russian product, which in the future will be able to replace Microsoft Office.
We asked for the testers of the service - to try "to taste" the Russian development. Of course, there are plenty of controversial points, but on the whole “MyOffice” pleasantly surprised and left only good impressions. We will not pull the intrigue - better show everything.
We managed to get access to the web version, “MyOffice” applications on the iPhone and iPad, and even on Android. Let's start, perhaps, with an acquaintance with the web version, because it is on the computer that we still perform most of the operations.
After authorization, the homepage of the applications “MoiOfis” looks quite minimalist - fans of flat design will definitely be delighted, still skekomorphism is no longer interesting. Here we find five main services from “MyOffice”: mail, contacts, profile, calendar and documents.
In the "Profile" section, you can change the basic information about the user, view the number of available gigabytes in the cloud, change the password, and so on - in general, it’s better to contact here for solving basic (organizational, so to speak) issues. Nothing extra, but it is for the better.
Go ahead? Calendar deserves special attention. Create events, make appointments, so as not to forget anything. Everything is implemented very conveniently and simply - much better than in the same to-do-managers. Cases are entered in one click.
A convenient navigation bar allows you to quickly switch between services, bypassing the main menu.
The meaning of "Contacts", we think, is clear from the title. All your base in one place - you can add friends and relatives to it, as well as colleagues, investors, subordinates and so on. Collect all the information about a specific user - from the name and phone to the email address and date of birth.
A large set of features boasts "Mail". Here you can add mail not only from “MyOffice”, but also another - from Outlook and Exchange to Gmail and “Yandex. Mail. If you know the incoming and outgoing mail server of your corporate account, add it too.
The mail interface is very nice. The service is built, again, on the principle of “nothing extra”: only your inbox with the appropriate sections and the ability to write a letter to anyone. All emails are conveniently sorted, which allows you to immediately see the messages from the same sender.
In the dialing window of a new letter there is everything that you may need: tools for editing text, the ability to attach a file, create a list and much more.
With the section "Documents" is still more interesting. For now, you can only create test documents and spreadsheets in the cloud, but soon presentations will be added to them.
What is especially like in the product "MoyOfis" - a clear interface. It is the same with documents and spreadsheets - even if you have never worked in cloud editors, you will get comfortable in five minutes. Management tools are conveniently located, there are no hundreds of buttons that are not clear what they are responsible for (beginners in Word will understand).
Up to three users can simultaneously edit the text. You will see in real time who is editing what. The developer plans to increase the number of co-editors to 50 co-authors, and as many as a million will be able to view the document.
Summing up a small result for the web version, we can say that the guys still have a lot of work to do and it’s not worthwhile to demand all the functions at once - the project is still being finished. But the fact that Russian developers have created a really cool and high-quality product with great potential can not but rejoice. The most important thing - “MoiOfis” will be understood not only by businessmen and young people, but also by the older generation. The universal interface here plays an incredible role.
As for the iOS version, only the Mail application is currently available for the iPhone, where you can also add any email account. The program is equipped with user-friendly controls and an attractive design without sacrificing functionality. In the autumn, by the way, other MoiOffice applications will appear on mobile devices.
It is very pleasant to work with such mail. There are no functions like viewing letters only with attachments, but this is a consequence of the fact that the developers do not overload the applications, leaving only the basic functions. At the same time, they listen to the opinions of users and add new features.
For each mailbox, the main sections are available, such as Inbox, Outbox, Drafts, and so on, which makes it convenient to navigate in a large mail flow. Choose several senders (put in a copy, if necessary), attach a file - and you're done! Everything is very simple and convenient.
And this is how, for example, the “Documents” application looks on the iPad. All files are only in the cloud and synchronized between devices when connected to the Internet (however, this is now very few people will be surprised). It is very convenient to edit - they started on the computer and finished on the tablet! And on a tablet with any platform: cross-platform - this is an important feature of “MyOfis”.
In the left menu you can view the documents to which you have been granted access, view the marked files or the recycle bin. All the necessary editing tools are available for both text documents and tables — setting the font, text, style, and so on. You can even forget about the desktop version and feel free to perform most operations on the tablet.
Not spared and Android devices. "Mail" and "Documents" are available for the operating system from Google, and with the support of Material Design. Appearance and control are in many ways reminiscent of applications for the iPhone and iPad, but Android programs are made in the appropriate style. Quickly on the go to edit the document? Easily. No need to get a tablet, everything can be done right on the smartphone.
The interface of Android applications is very similar to the interface of the program for iOS, and they are almost identical in terms of functionality. The applications are executed very high quality, and this cross-platform is very convenient when editing documents on different devices by several users at once.
The advantages of “MoyOfis” include a user-friendly interface, nice design of programs and cross-platform - this applies to both the web version and mobile applications. The disadvantages could be attributed to the number of available functions at the moment, but the list of opportunities to expand significantly by the end of the year, so this can hardly be called a disadvantage.
Let's summarize. This is really cool: the Russian product, and even so convenient, with a nice interface. True, the functionality is not yet fully accessible, but the developers are planning to increase it very quickly by the time the service is launched for private users at the end of this year.
