Communication between people from different countries has become even easier. Skype has launched its own online voice translation service, directly during a call.
Skype Translator - a project of multi-year labor research units of the company Skype and Microsoft - is now available for everyone. At the moment, the system is able, on the fly, to transfer the conversation between English-speaking and Spanish-speaking users. Support for more languages is expected in the future.
Skype Translator is currently working only on Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 operating systems. According to TheVerge, the system was tested between schoolchildren and students from the USA and Mexico who communicated among themselves in different languages.
In addition, Skype Translator can not only recognize speech and translate it on the fly, but also self-study. The more users will communicate through an online voice translator, the “smarter” he will be.
In the future, Microsoft promises to support more than 40 languages around the world, most likely among them will be Russian.
