The new Microsoft operating system went on sale three weeks ago. During this time, Windows 10 installed on their computers millions of people. But there is one thing that does not give rest to those who are especially not indifferent to the safety of personal data and, in general, does not like when someone invades his personal information space. As it turned out, the operating system, among other things, has the ability to block pirated video games.
It is unlikely that many Russian Windows users read user-to-peer agreements. If they are, then there are very few such people. Immediately comes to mind an episode of the animated series South Park about "Man of Aipad." But in the case of Windows 10, everything is really quite curious, because the EULA (End User License Agreement) agreement includes the following clause:
"We can automatically check your software versions and download application updates, as well as make changes to your computer configuration, to protect you from accessing malicious services, pirated video games, or from using non-certified peripherals."
Sounds pretty ominous, is not it? I don’t want to discuss other dubious aspects of Windows 10 operation now, such as, for example, the included keylogger by default, which keeps track of everything a user is typing on the keyboard, or the inability to disable automatic system updates. But such news about video games can upset some users, given that game piracy was, is and will be, even though very attractive offers from services such as Steam and GOG.
Will Microsoft really find and block pirated games on your computer automatically? Experts believe that it is unlikely. Saying this most likely refers to the company's own gaming services, such as Xbox and Xbox Live. But even if this means all the variety of pirated games for the PC, Microsoft is unlikely to take such a bold step and decide to ruin the relationship with its users. On the other hand, there is no reason to relax with respect to this fragment of the user agreement of Windows 10. Just so, just in case.
