This seemingly simple innovation can make a big difference, since, according to The Verge, HTC is preparing a new version of the One smartphone for the Windows Phone operating system. Such a smartphone will need an interactive case that can perform the functions inherent in competing devices running the Android platform.
The update will also add support for smartphones that are comparable in size with tablets. The update will work with displays up to 7 inches with a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels, and the option 1280 x 800 is designed for large devices with virtual navigation buttons.
The remaining updates are not that big, but significant in the long run. In particular, this is the high quality of the transmitted voice in LTE networks, higher sound quality via Bluetooth (via aptX) and several user lock screens.
