On October 17, Microsoft provided its updated Windows 8.1 operating system for users to download. But after a while, users of the Windows 8 RT system designed for Surface RT tablets began to complain that they could not install the long-awaited update.
Microsoft urgently removed the update from its official website, where instead of a link to download appeared an apology of the company. According to the software giant, only some tablet users have encountered such a problem; nevertheless, this problem exists, and in the near future Microsoft promises to make corrections and the update will reappear for downloading on the site.
According to Microsoft, such a problem appeared due to damage when updating part of the boot files, in which the operating system stops loading. Theoretically, you can boot the system using a bootable USB-drive, but the creation of such a drive causes some difficulties. They are connected with the fact that Surface RT works on processors with ARM architecture, and thus a boot drive can be created only on devices with a processor built on a similar architecture. In any case, even if such a flash drive could be created on ordinary PCs, such a problem brought difficulties for users, which should not be.
Recall that a few days ago it became available to update the Windows 8.1 operating system, which brought a number of changes and improvements to the Windows 8 system. One of the innovations was the return of the Start button. But to the disappointment of some users, this button led to the Metro interface, and not to the pop-up menu, as it was in previous versions of Windows.
Let's see at what speed Microsoft will correct this error, but in any case, the affected users found it unpleasant to encounter such a problem, and this in turn will not bring pluses to Microsoft.
