As you know, Microsoft recently released a new mobile operating system, Windows Phone 8, but WP-devices that were released before the release of the new OS will not receive it. Until recently, it was known that “old” devices would receive an upgrade to Windows Phone 7.8 instead, and many thought that this update would be the last for their devices. But it may refuse that it is not so.
Thanks to a slide leaked to the German Network, it became known that Microsoft is not going to abandon old devices to the mercy of fate after the release of Windows Phone 7.8, and maybe even release an update of Windows Phone 7.9. The exact name of the new OS is not yet known, since it is only marked on the slide as Windows Phone 7.x. And Twitter of the Russian division of Windows Phone reports that the platform’s support after the release of Windows Phone 7.8 will continue for another 18 months.
Information about when this update will be announced and will be available is also not reported yet. But sooner or later such information will appear. It seems to us that we will be able to find out the new details soon after the release of Windows Phone 7.8.
