The time has come for new statistics on the popularity of one or another operating system. According to the Net Applications analytical agency, by January 13, 2013, the Windows 7 operating system still ranks first among all operating systems.
The surprise was that a week after the previous study, Windows 7 increased its popularity. Its current share of the global market is 45.35 percent. A week earlier, the figure was 45.15 percent. But what is more interesting is that users are beginning to slowly throw XP - an operating system whose age is already 11 years, and which Microsoft will officially stop supporting in April 2014.
Two weeks earlier, Windows XP accounted for 39.08 percent. New numbers indicate that the version of this operating system is set at 38.71 percent of all computers in the world.
The third line of popularity is Windows Vista. Although its share during the week decreased slightly - from 5.1 percent to 5.06 percent.
