Microsoft and Nokia gave $ 1 million to Windows Phone developers

AppCampus

In March of this year, Microsoft and Nokia announced plans to launch AppCampus , a mobile application development program. This direction will be implemented on the basis of Aalto University in Finland. The companies promised to allocate 9 million euros (about 12 million dollars) for the project.

According to the online publication TechCrunch, Microsoft and Nokia have given 36 developers the first tranche of $ 1 million. AppCampus chief executive Pekka Sivonen (Pekka Sivonen) noted that applications funded by the program will start appearing in October on Windows Phone devices and “other Nokia platforms”.

The full list of applications funded by AppCampus has not been disclosed, but it is already known that one of them is intended for job search, and the other for measuring blood glucose levels in children.

Funding the program will help Microsoft fill the Windows Phone Marketplace with new applications.
