Nikon officially announced the Coolpic S800c compact camera running the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. The mobile device has a BSI CMOS 16-megapixel image sensor, 10x optical zoom, support for recording 1080p video with stereo sound, a 3.5-inch OLED touchscreen, an EXPEED C2 processor, and GPS and Wi-Fi wireless modules.
S800c works in two modes: "camera" and "Android". The latter mode allows you to use the camera as a mini-smartphone, allowing the user access to the Play Store online store.
The main advantage of using Android is the ability to share photos without the need to connect the camera to a personal computer. The image editing function allows you to add various effects to your photo. Nikon's special Android application (for iOS is expected soon) allows you to synchronize the Coolpix S800c with a smartphone via Wi-Fi, after which images from the camera are available through the photo gallery of the Android device.
Nikon S800c will go on sale in September this year at a price of $ 350. The novelty will be presented in white and black hull colors.
