It seems that the search engine Yahoo is going to make a redesign of its site. Screenshots of the new home page in the style of the Metro-interface of the Windows 8 operating system published resource AllThingsD.
As you can see in the photos below, Yahoo’s new home page uses square and rectangular tiles, and is very similar to the Windows 8 start screen. Even the arrows on the main page serve to move between the tiles, just as it is implemented in the Windows 8 user interface. Note that the Yahoo website already has touch support.
Yahoo has not yet revealed its plans for redesigning the home page. It is highly likely that the layout we saw today is not final and may be changed in the future. We won’t be surprised if it turns out that Metro-style Yahoo’s redesign is a Microsoft initiative. After all, Yahoo uses the Bing engine to handle search queries.
