Exactly on schedule, on the first day of summer, Google released statistics on the distribution of the Android 4.0 operating system among mobile devices. According to information published on the Google Android Developers blog, Ice Cream Sandwich version is installed on 7.1% of all Android devices, which is 2.2% higher than last month (in May it was 4.9%). Obviously, such a jump is associated with the appearance on the market of new devices. A separate contribution to this business was made by mobile operators.
Gingerbread platform (OS 2.3) settled on 65% of mobile devices. For a month, its popularity increased by 0.6%. Froyo version (OS 2.2) does not lose its position, holding 19.1%. In turn, Cupcake, Donut and Eclair account for 6.1% of Android devices. The Honeycomb rating (OS 3.2), developed specifically for tablet computers, dropped to 2.7% (last month it was 3.4%).
As you can see, Ice Cream Sandwich is booming. However, July promises to be more interesting, as the next version of the Android operating system, whose name is Jelly Bean , is being prepared for release. The premiere of the novelty is expected at the June conference of Google I / O.
