Earlier this week, we reported that because of a dispute over the copyright of the Metro brand, Microsoft decided not to use this term as the name of the user interface for the Windows 8 operating system, the Office 2013 application package and other software self-developed. According to the latest data, Microsoft recommended that its employees call the user interface the word “Modern” . Microsoft has not yet confirmed this information. However, there are indirect indications of this:
"As we approach the launch of [software] and the transition from industrial to user dialogue, we will use our commercial names."
In Office 2013, Microsoft uses the following expression:
"Enjoy the updated and modern [modern] interface."
