Microsoft has posted on its official blog a note on what to expect from the Windows operating system in the future . The company took into account the experience of early systems, starting with the version of Windows 1, when the idea of using a computer mouse was perceived by users as "unproductive and inconvenient." Since then, the way the user interacts with the computer has undergone many changes. Touch control technology has made the mouse a burden.
After analyzing the experience of using Windows, Microsoft highlighted the main trends in the operating system market. A modern computer has a 24-hour Internet connection, as the overwhelming number of users use hardware as a tool for social communication. Due to its mobility and compactness laptops have gained high popularity, leaving behind traditional desktop computers. Microsoft took all these criteria into account and defined the goals of Windows 8 :
