Korean smartphone maker LG has signed a license agreement with Microsoft to pay deductions for each smartphone, tablet computer or other mobile device that uses the Android or Google Chrome operating system.
LG has become the eleventh manufacturer of original equipment Android, which has concluded a similar agreement with Microsoft. For example, Motorola has already got under patent prosecution by Microsoft, therefore, it is possible that it will soon be on this list.
HTC and Samsung have managed to enter into a licensing agreement with Microsoft to promote Windows Phone-compatible devices and advertise the operating system. It is not yet known whether this will be stipulated by the terms of the contract with LG.
