Confidently moving toward this goal, Microsoft announces the readiness of a preliminary version of the Windows 8 operating system designed for developers. The news of this appeared on the very first day of the BUILD conference held in Anaheim, California.
The company offered two versions of the operating system, 32 and 64 bits, recorded on the ISO image. The kit includes: the OS itself, Windows SDK for Metro applications, Microsoft Visual Studio 11 Express, Microsoft Expression Blend 5 Developer Preview and 28 Metro style applications.
The requirements for first building Windows 8 are as follows:
- processor with a clock frequency of 1 GHz and above
- 1 GB of RAM for 32bit, 2 GB of RAM for 64bit
- 16 GB of free disk space (32bit) or 20 GB (64bit)
- DirectX 9
- touch screen (optional)
