Sony Ericsson today shared information about what is going to update the operating system of its Xperia X10 smartphone to Android 2.3. The smartphone will receive not only all the pluses inherent in this OS, but also be able to boast interfaces Timescape and Mediascape (as in the future Xperia Play). In fairness it should be noted that the functionality of the X10 camera will be returned to the stock version. And applications for backup and restore information will stop working.
The update should improve the performance of the browser and support for newer applications, add the ability to save applications to SD memory cards, improve the performance of voice commands and bring other features inherent in Android 2.2 and 2.3 versions. Sony Ericsson decided to skip the version of Android 2.2 and immediately install version 2.3. All this is due to the fact that the company decided to throw all its forces on the support of version 2.3.
There is bad news too. The company announced that the X8, X10 mini and X10 mini pro models will not be updated, and only the full-size X10 smartphone will receive the update. The update itself should be expected somewhere in the end of this spring.
